What is Sound Healing?
Sound healing works on the principle that sound, music & certain vibrations can improve our well-being. The science behind sound healing involves matching frequencies of different sounds to those that are necessary and conducive to healing and relaxation. Sound therapy involves brainwave entrainment, where a stimulus such as sound and electromagnetic waves trigger the brain’s ‘frequency following’ response that encourages the brainwaves to align to the stimulus’ frequency. It helps people get into states that might otherwise be difficult to achieve such as enhanced focus, induced sleep or deep meditative state. When done in conjunction with meditation, these tones can lead you into a state of deep relaxation in which healing and connection to a higher consciousness which takes place in the body even on a cellular level.

Scientific studies have proven that Tibetan singing bowls produce specific waves to deep relaxation
Waves from the brain in its normal state, i.e. in everyday conscience, produce different waves, which are Alpha, Beta, Theta, & Delta. Alpha waves are present in the states of meditation, calm, & relax. Theta waves are typical for the state of slumber, whereas delta waves are present only during deep sleep. When the waves produced by singing bowls were recorded, scientists discovered the waves were the same as those produced by the brain. These waves give a feeling of relaxation, they are thought to be ‘like those from a singing bowl’ by researchers at the University of Oxford, have been used by people in a study of the brainwaves. Sleep is something common(almost impossible not to avoid at some point of the class) during a sound bath when done with an experienced facilitator
